If you read lemonodor regularly, as I do, you probably have noticed that there have been zero new colorful pictures to look at recently. And you might have found the posts from the last week to be kind of (really) boring; it's all lisp and robots and almost no playboy parties, ass-grabbing anecdotes, burlesque girls or rocking n rolling swedes, which actually do pretty much fill my days and make it a real challenge for me to come up with something, anything, else, but especially good lisp robot stuff to put in here.
The thing is that some coworkers were looking at this thing and they might have found it interesting, which made me feel funny, so I decided to smoke them out using the power of boredom.
Don't worry, they'll be gone soon, spending their time looking at more interesting or funnier things.
(It was funny, though, when Yu came up to me and asked, very seriously, “John, why would someone read someone else's weblog?” Yu, the situation is even worse than you know. For real.)
One of these days I guess I should find out where the logs are kept, and see if there might be other people who aren't close personal friends reading this.
Posted by jjwiseman at August 03, 2003 09:58 PMHi -- I've never met you, but read this site occasionally. Mostly for the lisp and robots. I like lisp and robots.
Rock-n-rolling Swedes are good, too.
Posted by: jacob on August 4, 2003 07:17 AMI know you, but you are lazy and won't return my fucking mail.
I like robots because they fuck all night and don't smell like swedes who also fuck all night, but don't swallow.
I have been waiting for some picture of those LA crack-hos, but I guess that is for the private reserve only.
Blogs suck because they are generally total drivel that could never survive debate. So, naval-gazing jackasses who think their every defecation session contains profundity post their pathetic pandering therein.
Anyway, I like lemonodor becuase it fucks all night, swallows, and addresses two of my favorite subjects: Geeks who are sewing armageddon by tailoring AI systems that will be stolen off the rack by J. Poindexter, and speech impediments.
Lemonodor really isnt a standard blog because there is a point and goyim are still allowed to post.
BTW, I cannot recall asking ?John, why would someone read someone else's weblog??
Posted by: Ruth L. Istroll on August 4, 2003 11:34 AMAttention, I'm a lazy asshole who never answers *anyone's* email. About every other day I think about how I have a pending need to write you back. Spamming me works, but that's more effort than I'm worth, probably.
P.S. your last email to me was 100% accurate.
Posted by: John Wiseman on August 4, 2003 11:45 AMI don't know you either. I came here for the Lisp, but really enjoy the other bits as they are oddly similar to my own interests.
I have even discovered new bands I like from your site. Mostly though, it is the links to Lisp news that draw me. I suppose I could find that on Cliki or something, but the yellow background is just really more appealing.
Also, I share the sentiment in the, "Why would anyone read anyone else's blog?", question. I tend to skip over personal entries on any unacquainted blog, because it seems creepy to read about the personal lives of people I don't know. Oh yeah, and I just don't care.
Cheers. Viva lucha libre and lisp.
Posted by: Bob on August 4, 2003 01:05 PMI look at your blog for Lisp/Scheme current information. You have consistently done a great job doing that in my opinion. The robot info is also interesting. The party stuff usually gets skipped.
Thanks for posting the Lisp/Scheme info, especially for OS X!
Posted by: Mac on August 4, 2003 01:10 PMNo big deal, you don't share any anecdotes about these pictures, so it's really lisp 'n bots that are the big draw. I'm not personally so big on the bots, but I don't like to miss the lisp stuff.
Speaking of lisp, at the lispniks thing that happened right next door to me, the waitress was a dead ringer to that lady you posed with at the CES. She must get around.
