ATP, Day Two
I didn't go. I was too wiped out by day one, and my friend Mark's band was having their first gig in North Hollywood that night.
The Queen Mary was very cool. Sonic Youth put me to sleep in their usual, good way. Marc Brown, reliable recorder, has photos and stuff.
As far as the second day goes, it sounds like Iggy Pop was great, and I missed American Analog Set. But I just remember the time that I walked out of a lame bar in Hollywood and had nothing else to do, and I called up Mark. I was like, what's up, He was like “I'm at a party, I'm talking to [one of the top two hottest starlets on TV],” and I'm like eh, I'm not doing anything, I'll just see you--and he's “I already left, where are you? I'm on my way.” I mean, he ditched her to go meet me at the Dime. Gotta respect that.

Iggy! Hometown boy. I saw two great gigs in Ann Arbor, circa 1980, another one a few years later in Chicago. Supposed to be great live, still, although the studio recordings have been lame for the last decade or so.
Damn you, John Wiseman! I'm sick of reading about your glamorous LA life, with the Playboy bunnies and the Swedish heavy-metal bands and the pajama parties and the spying on your cats with robots!!! And now I see you're being acclaimed as a "BoingBoing buddy and robotics whiz". Is there no getting away from you and your repulsive social habits??!??!
ps Was it Jennifer Garner?
Don't forget the pal'ing around with Bob Saget and the skinny dipping in large vats of mercury.
If it's any consolation, his LA coworkers find him somewhat repulsive, too. In a very easy-going, reasonable way.
BoingBoing buddy sounds a little lewd. Just like me!
I thought about it very carefully before posting, and decided that Jennifer Garner is probably #3.
