No Future

i think anyone who came through late 80s without one of these should count themselves very lucky

jwz says “One can think in Lisp and still realize that actually writing programs in it has no future. (One sometimes cries.)”. [via Zach Beane].

I worry that he's right.

It was a belief widely held at Symbolics that God had decreed that there would never be more or less than 2000 real Lisp programmers in the world at any time.
