Palos Verdes High School's Doom Buggy! We talked to the parents of the PV team's technical lead. They said every line of code had been written by students, except for some device drivers, which is really amazing. I mean, I work with very smart people writing robotics software and we have a hard time getting anything to work.

The Doom Buggy's first attempt to start wasn't successful, so they got another chance. On the second try it exited the launch chute, went 10 feet and then took a hard left turn and rammed one of the concrete barriers, knocking it over.
